Hey guys! We wanted to address something very important in regards to the Summer Set and their friends in an upcoming pop band, Reece. Posted from The Summer Set’s Tumblr:
I wokeup this morning to some very unfortunate news.
Last night Jess, Stephen, and I went to watch some of our best friends in the new upcoming band “Reece” play a show at the clubhouse in Tempe. After the show we laughed about how crazy their overnight drive to Texas will be, I even said “we’ll guys it’s been nice knowin ya” We all laughed and exchanged hugs and wished them well on their first tour ever. This morning I found out they hit black ice in New Mexico around 8am. The van rolled 5 to 6 times, Kyle/drums, and Justin/vox were ejected from their bed in the back through the windshield. Jimmy who has teched for us and A Rocket To The Moon in the past got a bad concussion, Justin got a conussion, and Kyle suffered the worst injuries. I’ve been getting updates all day about their well being the latest i’ve herd is that Kyle broke his back and is lucky to not be paralyzed. People don’t realize the risk bands take every day. My best friends are damn lucky to be alive and the only thing they can think about is getting back on the road. It blows my mind. Their equipment was a total loss. the trailer was destroyed, the van totalled. These guys want nothing more than to continue moving forward and I admire their relentless attitude, all they want to do is play music.
