We apologize for the delay, we have been super busy! Here is the interview with the lead singer of Hit the Lights, Nick Thompson, when his band stopped by in Columbus, Ohio last month for the AP tour.
What’s up, my name is Nick Thompson and I sing in a band called Hit the Lights!
You guys are on the second to last AP Tour date, how has the tour been so far?
Tour has been one of the most fun tours we have ever done! All of the bands are awesome, and I love seeing everyone, everyday. This tour went by way too fast, and its going to be sad.
Any funny pranks while on tour?
Uhm, let me think… Funny pranks…. We always get drunk backstage and do fun stuff, I don’t think we did any pranks. We pee on each other, chase each other around.
What was the band’s first reaction when you were asked to be on the AP lineup?
Yes!
Were you guys excited?
Oh yeah, fersure! We knew it was going to be a good tour. And a lot of us didn’t know the bands on the lineup, and now we get to see them every night on stage. It’s awesome.
Are you guys friends now?
Yeah, fersure! I love everyone on this tour. I’ll miss them.
Favorite song to play live? Old and new?
Old and new… Old song, I like to play “Talk Us Down”. As for a new song, I like “Cry Your Eyes Out”.
Favorite city/venue to play in?
Chicago is amazing, Los Angeles, Jersey, Florida… House of Blues Chicago is amazing. Oh, and Boston! Boston House of Blue’s was insane this year, I love Boston.

Twitter! Just because it’s something I do. And I twat, constantly. Always twatting.

Yeah see I didn’t know how it worked and how people can follow you… I found that out, like, a month ago. It shows up on my phone and my Myspace and it’s awesome, I love it.
Besides Warped Tour, any other plans?
Yes! In the summer for a week we are going to Japan with Valencia and Every Avenue, and we’re all friends so it’s awesome. Come back, do all of Warped Tour. Take some time off, then do a headlining tour in the Fall, and write a new record. And we have a new EP coming out! This summer for Warped Tour, so yeah, that’s what I have been listening to lately. We’ve got two new songs, two cover songs, and more.
